Locomation is looking for a Purchasing Agent who will identify and select components to support the commercialization of the product. They are responsible for taking the product technical requirements to select & source components while considering availability, reliability, and price. 

About Your Role:

  • Develop close working relationships with project management, engineers, and finance to deliver and support product.
  • Develop strategic sourcing roadmap over multiple years for future releases & cost reduction efforts.
  • Responsible for Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for products: customer base, size, product portfolio, support structure, supply chain, technology, etc.
  • Perform recommendation and selection of parts to source.
  • Execute and negotiate supplier sourcing contracts: price, payment terms, warranty, MOQ, and development costs.
  • Establish standard costs for each component in congruence with finance.
  • Establish and maintain BOM tracking sheet while working with Product Team.
  • Provide regular updates on current TOC vs. target TOC.
  • Own POs from cradle-to-grave to support product development.

 

About You:

  • Supply Chain Bachelor degree or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years Purchasing or related experience recommended.
  • Excellent computer skills, G-suite.
  • Experience in NPD which involves software development, hardware development, and verification and validation.
  • Excitement around developing streamlined processes and tools.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements.

 

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience at a fast paced, start-up.
  • Understanding of cameras, radars, and lidars.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment.
