Autonomy Software Engineer - World Modeling

About Your Role:

  • Work with the autonomy, systems engineering, and safety teams in identifying world modeling requirements for the Autonomous Relay Convoy (ARC) system.
  • Design and develop safety-verifiable algorithms for;
    • Sensor fusion,
    • Feature and object tracking,
    • Trajectory prediction,
    • State estimation (both for the ego vehicle and the other tracked vehicles).
  • Work with the systems engineering, safety, and testing teams in identifying challenging cases for the world modeling subsystem.
  • Help the V&V team with constructing (simulated) scenarios to test the world modeling subsystem.
  • Work with the autonomy and systems engineering teams in defining and tracking world modeling related performance metrics.
  • Help build tools and infrastructure needed to verify and evaluate the performance of the world modeling subsystem over time.

About You:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Robotics, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or similar field.
  • Experienced in fusion, filtering, and (multi-hypothesis) tracking methods like Dempster-Shafer, recursive least squares, particle filters, and various flavors of Kalman filters.
  • Has strong analytical skills in linear algebra, geometry, and probability.
  • Has strong C++ and Python skills.

Nice to Haves:

  • Advanced degree in AI and Robotics.
  • Experience with common robotic system middlewares.
  • Experience in safety-critical application development.
  • Relevant work in the autonomous driving field.
