Software Engineer - Developer Infrastructure

About Your Role:

  • Build and support core developer infrastructure for Locomation’s autonomous vehicle workflows.
  • Work with developers to understand use cases and expectations around performance, compatibility, and flexibility of developer tools.
  • Ensure developer tools are meeting the complex quality and performance needs of building autonomous vehicles.
  • Select compilers, build systems, static analyzers and other core tools and standardize their settings.
  • Standardize and support development environments through containerization, dependency packaging,  VDI infrastructure, etc.
  • Standardize and support developments tools including IDEs and plugins, code formatters, and documentation generators.

About You:

  • 3+ years experience managing aspects of developer infrastructure: compilers, build systems, and/or supporting tools.
  • Broad understanding of common tool chains, GCC, LLVM, cmake, catkin, bazel, etc.
  • Experience supporting diverse target platforms: ARM, x86, GPU, etc.
  • Strong C++ and Python skills.

Nice to Haves:

  • B.S. in computer science, software, electrical/electronics engineering, or similar field.
  • Understanding of embedded systems and proprietary toolchains.
  • Familiar with Robot Operating System or similar middleware.
