V2V/V2X Communications Lead

About Your Role:

  • Lead vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure communications engineering for Locomation’s ARC technology.
  • Select and test V2V hardware (chipsets, radios, antennae, dev. kits) for integration into ARC prototypes and products.
  • Work with control systems engineers to understand requirements for bandwidth, latency, reliability, and similar performance metrics.
  • Work with software engineers to ensure the integration of hardware with network stacks and application software.
  • Participate in lab, bench, and vehicle testing activities and measure performance and ensure suitability for real-world deployments.
  • Monitor industry trends and establish partnerships with vendors.

About You:

  • B.S. in electrical/electronics engineering, communications engineering, or similar field.
  • 3+ years experience developing wireless communications applications, preferably for in-vehicle applications or similar dynamic environments.
  • Familiar with all layers of the OSI model as they apply to V2V applications.
  • Familiar with existing and emerging V2V standards (e.g. DSRC, WAVE, C-V2X, etc.).

Nice to Haves:

  • An advanced degree in the aforementioned fields.
  • Experience developing embedded software for AV or ADAS applications.
  • Familiar with cyber-security principles.
  • Familiar with functional safety principles e.g. ISO 26262.
